Many people across the country and even around the world, feel as though they don't look their best whether dressed for success, or a date, or simply an afternoon spent shopping or with friends. Surprisingly the problem isn't with their choice of style, but rather because they are wearing the wrong size clothing from their undergarments to their dresses, pants and shirts. Studies show that about 85% of women choose the wrong bra size, and a recent study in the U.K. revealed that 46% of women wear the wrong size of dresses, pants, other clothing. And it appears that men are no different.
These studies also reveal that while a few women choose to wear clothing that are too small, squeezing themselves into a smaller size for vanity purposes, the majority of women and men tend to choose clothing that are too large, often their clothes are a full size larger than what they need.
The Effects of Wearing the Wrong Size ClothingThere is a negative effect to wearing the wrong size of clothing. Wearing clothing that is too small, not only shows every line of your underwear, but also shows every bump or lump on your body not to mention can make you feel uncomfortable and perhaps affect your breathing. Wearing too large of clothing results in you looking sloppy no matter how expensive your clothing may be. When your clothing looks sloppy, it is difficult to feel or look your best.
How to Purchase Clothing that Fits BetterVarious people will give you advice on how to purchase clothing that fits better. Experts in clothing design and manufacturing will advise you to take all your measurements, and purchase the clothing size recommended for these measurements. A far simpler way of finding clothing that fits properly is to go into the clothing store and choose an article or severl articles of clothing in the normal size you have been buying as well as the same outfit (outfits) in a size larger and a size smaller. Then try on all three sizes and choose the size that looks best on you.
It might also be a good idea to take a trusted friend or relative to help you decide which size outfit looks best on you.
Keep in Mind That Sizes Differ by Brand and StyleYou do need to keep in mind that just because you wear a certain size in one brand of clothing, doesn't mean that clothing of another brand in the same size will fit equally well. So make sure that you try on every outfit before you actually purchase it to make sure that the fit is true. You also may need to adjust the size of clothing you purchase depending on the style of the clothing you are purchasing.
Making sure you are wearing the right size rather than the wrong size of clothing not only will make you look better, but will also make you feel better and more confident.
