The world of fashion is not precisely known to be the most inclusive and find itself plagued with advertisements that integrate all the communities of the world. Even when they try, it is very difficult for all its public to receive something with a good eye and even more when it comes to cultures or races that have had big problems with discrimination.
Whether in Europe or in America, Racism in Fashion Photography is something that is seen every day and there are multiple complaints about all brands that have incurred in this. However, even in this "Modern Era", discrimination is still alive and the rights of all those groups must be defended daily.
Even so, Fashion is an area that will always be trying to innovate, even if it leaves out some important details. For example, there are clothing brands that want to make inclusive catalogs for all people regardless of their skin color. However, most of the designs that the models that they incorporate use are racist and lack the same freedom that they give to models whose skin color are less dark.
And this is something that several important personalities have criticized since Racism in Fashion Photography discriminates against all those who are different from the "Elite" and does not give them the same opportunities as others and does not give them the recognition they deserve.
When you start looking in the world of fashion you will find different photographs where most of the models that pose have white skin. That is when racism begins as models belonging to ethnic minorities are not included in these photographic sessions for many reasons that are allegedly nonsense.
This has led to world-renowned models, such as Naomi Campbell, to defend greater diversity in the world of haute couture and to set aside the Racism in Fashion Photography.
With a great career, this model has been traveling the world carrying its message while claiming that all models deserve to have the same opportunities with each other regardless of their skin color.
And if you still do not think Racism in Fashion Photography is real, you can check the statistics of models of the New York Fashion Week, in which only 15% of the models belonged to another ethnic group. More in detail, there were 82.7% of white models, 9.1% of Asian models, 6% of black models, 2% of Latinas and 0.3% of other races.
Internet purchases have become an important part of each brand of clothing, even so, the photographs they use are sometimes not entirely accurate and that has led to several controversies between Internet users and store owners.
Racism in Fashion Photograph, even when it has tried to leave behind, continues to come to light because there is always some misunderstanding or details that are overlooked. However, people who follow the fashion world are always aware of this and defend their rights and demand respect for people of all races.
From children with racist messages in garments to models sitting on chairs of African-American women, Racism in Fashion Photography is a reality that cannot be ignored as it affects us all as citizens of the world.
Most of the houses of culture as a result of all the inclusive movements that have been emerging from a few years ago have decided to opt for comprehensive campaigns where all models, regardless of skin color, religion or hair, can participate without a problem.
Example of this is Victoria's Secret who now has a team of models from different countries including Asian, Latin, American and African. Even now the photographs have concepts far from what was always given to the models of a specific race. And Asian models, do not model only things inspired by east but can use anything else to pose.
In the same way, there are brands that have added to plus sizes. Racism in Fashion Photography includes not only discriminating people with different skin colors but also those who are not thin.
Something that has always been criticized in the world of fashion is that people of large size cannot wear the beautiful clothes that appear in magazines. See only super skinny models wearing that beautiful clothes and therefore, people plus sizes feel discriminated and even get depressed and conceive their body as ugly as they do not meet the fashion standard.
The major brands in the fashion world have realized this type of Racism in Fashion Photography and now include models of large sizes in their ads and not only to show that you can lose weight but to make them feel comfortable with themselves and they can look beautiful wearing their great clothes.
An example is the model Ashley Graham who has dominated the world with her beautiful and curvaceous figure. Finally, inclusion is becoming a reality even when a black panorama was glimpsed. Now the sun comes out little by little and we can all be part of this interesting and beautiful world of fashion.
Fashion is a way of expressing oneself. To be able to choose what to wear and what clothes to wear is an extraordinary gift for every human being who enjoys their free will. However, Racism in Fashion Photography has been depriving this and has not allowed all models to enjoy the same opportunities as others.
Whether you are a man or a woman, you must defend diversity in every area of which you are part. Only then society and the world will be a better place for all. So do not let the Racism in Fashion Photography keep on being present.
If you are a photographer, designer or model, remember to include all the races and figures that you can in your campaigns, only this way people will feel included and part of a better society. In addition, making the world a better place where everyone feels beautiful is the mission of fashion.
