Ivanka Trump was introduced into the world of fashion early, her mother Ivana was a model in Canada prior to marrying Donald Trump and later began her own clothing, shoe and jewelry line. Both of Ivanka's step mothers have also been models. At 15 Ivanka did her own modeling and continued to model throughout high school. She quit modeling when she attended Wharton School of Business.

Once she graduated Wharton Ivanka worked for some Real Estate companies before joining her father's business and later starting her own fashion line.

Ivanka Trumps own fashion preference tends to be clothing that are simple and somewhat classic. She tends to prefer simple sheathe dresses in neutral and muted colors with some splashes of color. Her clothing tends to be classic but still trendy.

Much of Ivanka's clothing line tends to be reasonably priced to appeal to working women and the middle class. Many of her fashions follow her own style and many are quite feminine. Politics, Ivanka Trump and Fashion

When Ivanka became invested in helping her father become president she supposedly stepped down from running her fashion company, but doubts arose when Kelly Anne Conway and other people in the Trump adminestration began pushing Ivanka's fashion line. This has caused her fashions to be removed from stores such as Neiman Marcus and sales to fall in certain areas of the country. However, her online sales have increased and so have sales in certain regions in the country.

Ivanka herself has also used her own fashion sense to make her more relatable to people. She chooses to dress in her own designs and clothing by Zara that are designed to be reasonably priced and more relatable to the average woman.

In addition, while President Trump is urging people to buy American Ivanka Trump's fashions are made in various countries around the world where labor is cheap.

With Ivanka Trump becoming so emeshed in her father's politics, some of the general public may be reluctant to purchase Ivanka's fashions simply because her fashion business has not been directly split from her role in politics. Many women feel that wearing Ivanka's fashion may be akin to signing onto Trump politics. Others feel one should have nothing to another, which creates some controversy for Ivanka Trump and her fashions.
